Network for Community-Campus Partnerships

McMaster's Network for Commmunity-Campus Partnerships was created to facilitate the achievement of the University’s community engagement goals by bringing together community involved representatives from across the university to move forward with strategic and coordinated action. Community Engagement Reports

The following reports have been developed by colleagues at McMaster to share details regarding community engagement initiatives taking place across the University.

Complete Streets Pilot

In January 2015, in partnership with the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and the McMaster Institute for Transportation and Logistics, the Network for Community-Campus Partnerships piloted a deliberative dialogue to ask the question "What is the business/economic case for implementing complete streets?" This dialogue involved a range of colleagues from multiple Faculties at McMaster and from community organizations, business, and government. The outcomes were shared in a report (see below), which informed subsequent catalyst projects funded by the Network to form new partnerships. Reports based on these catalyst projects are currently being used by the City of Hamilton and other partners for future planning and are also shared below.

Change Camp Hamilton

Change Camp Hamilton is a participant-driven dialogue that brings together students, residents, and educational partners in a conversation on community, partnerships, and collaboration. A partnership between McMaster University, Mohawk College, and the City of Hamilton, the first Change Camp Hamilton took place in March 2015. Plans are in place to make this an annual event the connects dialogue with action on issues relevant to students, residents, and the community-at-large:
